Has anyone tried the Prolon fasting-mimicking diet?
My doctor recommended Prolon for its autophagy benefits. 5 days of restricted calories with specific macros. It's expensive ($250/cycle) and the food is pretty bland. For those who've done it — was it worth it vs just doing a 3-day water fast? I'm looking for both subjective experiences and any biomarker data you might have.

Did two cycles. The convenience is the only real advantage over water fasting. The "food" is basically nut bars and soup. Save your money and just fast.
The Valter Longo research behind it is legit, but you can replicate the macros yourself for a fraction of the cost. Lots of DIY FMD protocols online.
I actually prefer Prolon to water fasting because the small amount of food makes it much more sustainable. I do it quarterly and my IGF-1 drops significantly each time.
