Is NMN actually doing anything? My before/after NAD+ levels

N

I took 500mg NMN daily for 4 months. Got intracellular NAD+ measured via Jinfiniti before and after. My levels went from 31 (below optimal) to 48 (optimal range). However, I also started exercising more during this period, so I can't attribute it solely to NMN. The bigger question: does a higher NAD+ number actually translate to health benefits? I'm not sure anymore.

The exercise confound is huge. Brenner's group showed that exercise alone can raise NAD+ levels significantly. Hard to separate the effects.

I stopped NMN after seeing the mouse data on potential cancer promotion. The risk/benefit at our age just doesn't make sense to me.

Jinfiniti's test measures whole blood NAD+, which may not reflect tissue levels. Take the absolute numbers with a grain of salt.

I had the opposite experience — 6 months of NR with zero measurable change. Switched to exercise focus and felt much better.

The real question isn't whether NAD+ goes up, it's whether downstream markers like DNA repair, PARP activity, etc. improve. We need better biomarkers.
