The case for vitamin D supplementation in longevity
Large meta-analyses keep showing that vitamin D supplementation reduces all-cause mortality by ~6%. The VITAL trial showed reduced cancer mortality. Yet most longevity experts barely mention it because it's boring and cheap. I maintain 60-80 ng/mL with 5000 IU daily + K2. At $10/year, this might be the highest ROI longevity intervention available.

$10/year for a 6% mortality reduction. If this were a new drug it would be the biggest blockbuster in pharma history.
The K2 pairing is crucial and often overlooked. Without K2, vitamin D can lead to calcium ending up in arteries rather than bones.
The 60-80 ng/mL target is higher than mainstream medicine recommends (30-50). What's your evidence for the higher range?
Make sure you're taking D3, not D2. And test your levels — there's significant individual variation in response to supplementation.
